Powis House Estate is a unique, historic retreat venue in central Scotland tailored for yoga, fitness, and wellness instructors. Set on 10 acres of woodlands and meadows, it offers views of breathtaking mountains and the soothing sounds of nature.
Instructors and their guests find a tranquil, inspiring environment here – at Powis House you can host groups of 6–15 guests in a accessible, yet secluded Highland setting, creating the perfect backdrop for practice, reflection and renewal
What makes Powis House the perfect place to host your Retreat?
Scenic, Nature-Rich Location: Nestled at the Gateway to the Highlands, Powis House sits just 10 minutes from Stirling, 30 mins from Glasgow, 45 mins from Edinburgh making us really accessible for your guests. Yet, our location combines mountain vistas, ancient woodlands with 300 year old oak and giant sequoia trees, and beautiful gardens. The grounds include dozens of walking paths, a spring-fed clear-water swimming pond and views of the Ochill Hills. The lawns are vast and well kept - easily transformed into a tranquil yoga space. The decked Summer House with wood-burning stove are ideal for outdoor yoga or sunset meditation, all of which means guests can revel in tranquil downtime and you can use the beauty of the land to add your personal touch.
Historic, Comfortable Accommodations: Guests stay in two self-contained, adjoining stone cottages (“Powis East” and “Powis Mid”) that blend ancient character with modern amenities. Each cottage sleeps 6, which means we can host between 6 and 12 guest if sharing room (we can configure rooms so every has their own bed) and offers cozy, well-equipped living: central heating, wood-burning stoves and open log fires, fast Wi-Fi and Smart TVs, plus fully-equipped kitchens with traditional AGA. The spacious kitchen/diner areas of up to 12 to sit together. With over 100+ reviews on major booking platforms at 5* and 10* you can feel reassured that the accommodation is excellent.
Wellness Amenities: Powis House features a natural spring-fed lake (for crystal-clear cold plunges) and two large hot tubs (8‑person and 6‑person) – one wood-fired beside the Summer House, one electric behind the East Cottage. Instructors can treat guests to hot-tub relaxation or lake swims after practice. The estate also includes an orchard and garden with wild berries and fruits for foraging, plus an abundance of nature to watch such as deer, rabbits and red squirrels. This immersion in nature means attendees leave retreats feeling refreshed, rested and recharged and means you don't have to even leave the site.
Versatile Retreat Spaces: Instructors have a variety of settings to work with. Indoors, a south-facing dining room with French doors and wood burner doubles as a bright yoga studio or workshop space, easily holding 12 plus the instructor. Outdoors, the Summer House deck (overlooking hills) can serve for sunset yoga, writing or meditation space. The historic main lawn, meadows, orchard and woodlands offer open-air yoga, walking meditations or group activity space. Everything is designed for flexibility: Powis House provides yoga mats and props if needed, and even a yurt space is under development for group classes (early 2026). In short, whether you envision sunrise yoga by the pond or an evening circle by the fire, Powis House can accommodate it.
Flexible Partnership Models: We support instructors in two ways. With dry-hire (flat fee paid to Powis House), you rent the venue and handle all logistics yourself. Or choose our full-service model: Powis House manages catering (healthy local breakfasts and lunch supplies, chef-prepared dinners), airport/train transfers and activity guides, while you focus on teaching. Powis House pays you a flat fee plus booking revenue share. Many instructors appreciate full service support so they can devote time to students rather than chores.
Tailored for Yoga & Fitness Retreats: Powis House’s whole ethos is wellness and creativity. We actively invite yoga, mindfulness and fitness teachers (as well as running groups, art and writing workshops) to book retreats here. Our spaces (like the hot tubs and woods) complement any wellness theme, and we can suggest local activities (mountain walks, golf, fishing or historical tours) to round out a schedule.
